ebay help please!
I had an auction that just ended, in the auction it is stated in several places that I only ship to the US (see auction ) and someone from Japan won it. Even though she won, she broke the rules of my auction. I am not comfortable shipping outside of the country and I'm not willing to do it. I would like to offer a second chance purchase to the person the winner outbid. Can I do that in this situation? Will I get in trouble by ebay for refusing to ship to the winning bidder?
Thanks!

You shouldn't.
Go to www.ebay.com and use the live help. They'll be able to tell you for sure what the right course of action it. They might not open for another hour though. But that's ok, won't make a difference in terms of everything else.

Yes, you can do that. There is a way to cancel the bid and you can make a 2nd chance offer to the next bidder. I hate when that happens, I do ship to Canada and I have also shipped to AU but I am leary sometimes to ship elsewhere. It all depends on what I am selling, my stuff usually is not of high value so it is not a target for fraudulent bidders. Good luck.

Check first to make sure though that it's not someone somehow in the service, if I remember right it's shipping to an IPO? It's basically the same as shipping locally. I'd just check, wouldn't want to take it from a service person that would like to have it

Again, not sure, not even sure if they have IPO's in that country.

Thanks for the tip to use livehelp. They told me I could give a second chance offer, but they didn't take it. I'll have to relist it, and I guess I'll try to get my listing fee back. Oh well, it wasn't a huge amount lost, only $27 but it's still frustrating.
