West At Home agents....I have a ? for you
I have been accepted as a West At Home agent, but it's only at the 2nd stage of the hiring process (I just answered all the email relayed questions...W2's, background check, etc), but I was wondering, what type of phone set-up do I need? I searched their site and was unable to find what the phone requirements were. I found the computer requirements, but not the phone line(s).
I'm leary of anything where I have to spend $$ to get started, and I have a feeling this is that type of case.
Any thoughts? Words of wisdom, experience?
Thanks everyone,
Dawn

West at Home is one I've been looking at. I have a friend here who used to work for them. She really liked it, said they were reputable and she didn't have to spend any money to get hired.

You don't need to buy a second line to work. Regarding phone lines I can only think of using a cell phone is a no no, You CAN use a landline, cable, or something like Vonage
Congrats on getting hired. It's a convenient way to make money at home

I have a Vonage phone line. I went and bought a new phone because mine was falling apart and a mess. And I bought a headset. The kind like the receptionists wear.
The part where you have to get the paper notarized, your bank will likely do that free.
Congrats. And have fun with it!!~~ Missy ~~

Oh thank you for the information! I have been wondering about this all day long. I have my information together and will go tomorrow for the notarization and to mail it. I guess I was just curious about the phone...
you don't use your own phone # do you? I'm extremely new to this type of work, I really just want to supplement and use all the money I make at this to send to the credit card companies.
If anyone has a minute or two, I'd love to hear more about your experiences with it.

I got a second line with VOnage, but you don't have to. PPL that are calling, don't have access to your actual number., It's routed to you. And if someone were trying to call your number while you were working for West, they'd just get a busy signal. You have to disable your call waiting, caller id, etc before your shift. you can re enable it once your shift is done. I think I am going to close the second line.
Although I have made plenty to cover it. and it is a tax write off as well.
My first night wasn't a nightmare. But it was close. I had no calls for actual sales and had some weird calls that had nothing to do with the job. But apart from that first day, it was better thereafter.~~ Missy ~~

No not yet. They emailed me and asked for the notarized information (this was last Friday I think ???). I sent it that same day and now I'm waiting for the phone interview portion.
I'd love to start soon. Although, this week it's kind of a blessing I haven't started yet, it's Valentine's week (I'm a part time florist also) so I'm working A LOT this week!!!
Thanks for the inquiry, I really am excited to get going in it and see how it goes. I do have high hopes, I really hope we're a good match.
