How does this website look??
I started a webpage for the business that I want to start and I want to know what you all think. Just remember that it is in the starting process, dont have photos yet or any of that.

Is this your first site? It looks great. Very clean, neat, and pretty. I just have a few suggestions:
1) I don't know if you know html, but right now when you click on your banner it goes to your image in photobucket. You don't want this. For usibilty most people expect to go to the homepage when you click on the banner. If you can get in the code find this:
and change it to this:HTML Code:<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v610/MNmommy/?action=view¤t=sambanner.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v610/MNmommy/sambanner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
2) You have html in your page title. Thats why on the top bar on your screen you see all that code. You really want to change this for search engines. The title tag is a big big thing in getting found in google. In between the title tags should be the page title and maybe a short description. Like:HTML Code:<a href="http://www.freewebs.com/sweetpeacelebrations/"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v610/MNmommy/sambanner.jpg" border="0" alt="Sweat Pea Celebrations"></a>
3) I know to start out you want to be as frugal as possible in the beginning, but a domain name and hosting isn't that expensive in the long run (about $100/year) and it makes you look way more professional. The free site is fine for now and much better than nothing at all, but in the future its something you may want to think about. Plus then if you want to put ads, you can put ads that earn you money, not someone else.HTML Code:<title>Sweat Pea Celebrations Event Planning</title>
I hope thats helpful. You really did a great job! It looks beautiful!

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. the HTML gets me completely confused and I got 1 blinkie the right way and the banners the right way but the other blinkies aren't working so I just wont put them on for now.
I will definitely get my own domain when/if this business takes off, I just want something to get me started

I think it's lovely. Neat and clear to navigate. Though, having the rose banner on there twice (at the very top and then at the top of each page) is a little redundant. That's my only qualm.

Great start on the website!
A couple thoughts:
Advertising - I know this comes with the free hosting. When you make your first sale you should invest in your own webpage. If you are selling a product on your webpage, you never want to advertise someone else's product - and have them possibly leave. Even if the website is yours, the pennies generated by adsense aren't worth sending the eyeballs somewhere else (to a competitor)!
Webhosting - Having your own domain and webhosting adds to the "appearance" factor of the site - and allows you to rank higher in google and other web searches (where keywords in the domain name are very important for ranking). A simple webhosting company like godaddy has a basic hosting plan for 3.99 a month - and with that purchase you get your domain name for 1.99 for the first year (which goes back to 9.99 a year after that.
Niche - You have a great niche idea. With a properly set-up webpage (meta tags, tags, keywords, and proper use of bold type), you should be able to rank number one on a google search for "rochester MN party planning"
Good luck!

Wow...... love the colours. You've motivated me.
I absolutely NEED to learn to do my own webpages. Currently I have someone doing my one site, but it's a pain when I need things changed. I also want to do another site and don't have the money to pay out again.
Good luck with your business!!Connie
