Just spoke to Carrie's brother and she is doing much better today, the swelling in her face is starting to go down. But they still have her in an induced coma. Still not out of the woods, but sounding a bit better.

    Thank you everyone!

    *UPDATE*

Carrie is out of ICU, has had the respirator taken out, is eating, walking around, (though her perception is a little off) and is scheduled for surgery Monday 6/30/08 to replace her skull piece and have the drain and PIC line removed!

Her mom says she is full of pi$$ and vinegar and wants to come home!

Thanks Dar, we are SO thrilled! Carrie is coming back to being who she was before the accident, she is indeed a pistol!

She has some short term memory loss which is to be expected, but otherwise is just itching to get out of the hospital.

Here is an article, small as it is. From what we know now, she pulled off the road because it was raining heavily (she is terrified of it since her and her and her bf hydroplaned last fall in a storm) She was in park and this DUMB woman, without a license, I might add, wasn't paying attention and hit her doing in excess of 65 mph! It turned her into oncoming traffic, with a semi braking for all he was worth to stop in time, good thing as he was carrying EXPLOSIVES!!!!! He missed Carrie by inches!!! (He will be a witness) They have already contacted a lawyer and he said it is a cut and dried case, that woman is at fault, no IFS AND OR BUTS! She will most likely get a huge settlement, when, who knows?

Seriously, her family and us (Jack and I) don't really care, we are just so happy Carrie made it and is recovering.

Thank you everyone, from me and Brenda (her mom) for all your prayers and well wishes, we KNOW they made a difference!
