    Default Ten more minutes!

Ok, now I need just 10 more minutes!

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah (that is me screaming) Dh went for a job interview, went to the physical, got put on hold for high bp. Was told to bring back a dr's note. Ok, he finally got an appointment yesterday, bp was ok. Got the note took it back to the new job people, they took his bp today ---stroke level? what? So now he's driving back home to see if he can get into the dr. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Driving 45 miles one way, jumping through hoops, worrying about not having a job,duh it's enough to make YOUR blood pressure high just reading about all this drama.

I am however, glad that I did not do my "big cook" oamc. They are not low cal.

I know that the dr. is going to make him stop smoking, cut back on his 12 cups of coffee, and to eat lean. I've been harassing him for years about the smoking and coffee--he just does it more. (ok maybe not more, but just continues)

Now that MY BP is high, I'm off to throw things---into the dishwasher.

My dh does struggle with high blood pressure. We learned that when he went for his physical for his cdl....no stress there. He is on meds and still will spike a high one whenever it is time for his yearly cdl pysical. It is stressed related..he is worried about passing the stupid physical. The doctors that do them now just make him rest for a few minutes then try the blood pressure. It truly sounds like that is what is going on with your dh. Hopefully he can get this straightened out.

make sure they are using the right size blood pressure cuff as well. i got into a fight with a medical assistant because she was using a skinny person BP cuff on me, a plus size person, and she wasn't doing it right.. I normally have low blood pressure. she and the doc kept yelling at me for my BP and when i left i had it done elsewhere and my blood pressure was fine.

12 cups of coffee? really? wow.

    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Also make sure he has them do it more than once. My DH was told for years that he had high BP. Then when he went in for his CDL physical, the dr, took the BP, and it was high. It was an automatic cuff, and while he was talking to Dh, it went off again a second time. The dr. told him not to worry about it, he'd forgotten to shut off the machine. He said, let it do its thing and we'll take it off. Well, lo and behold...the second reading came back waaaaaay lower!

Comes to find out, DH has Dr's office anxiety according to this dr. Now, whenever he goes in, they take his pressure twice. Once at the beginning (and it's always high) and once at the end and it's much lower, once he is relaxed. May not be the case, but it may be part of the problem!

If he could quit smoking that would help too. I had borderline higher blood pressure when I smoked. Now, that I quit, it's totally fine!

This whole thing has just been horrible. He drove back the (45 miles one way) again today. They told him they need to SEE his meds. OK, he went. Before he went, he had his bp taken. High, but in the the safe range. Got there, they took it. 40 pts higher.

He did tell the nurse. Look you are not a DR. you are practicing medicine and MY DOCTOR wants to know why you think you can practice medicine. She told him to come back in a few more days. The people from HR wont talk to him because he's not been released by their nurse. He has no way of doing anything except working on this bp deal.

It's ticking him off even more and making the bp worse.
