The first time I took my oldest son to the dentist (age 3) he needed tons of work done. His teeth were so bad, they asked me if I put him to bed with a bottle of milk or juice (which I never did). That was 5 years ago and once all of his work was done (like 9 fillings and two molars pulled...gasp), his teeth are fine. We see the dds every 6 mos and he hasn't had a cavity in ages. I know how you feel because I felt horrible. When we finally found the right dentist, he explained that it was probably just genetics. He just has really soft teeth.

We moms do the best we can. I'm glad you found the right dds and are comfortable with what needs to be done.

I'm sure the kids will do better than you. Remember to take that chill pill. Be glad they will be sedated, everything done in one swoop. The first time I took my son he needed 4 molars extracted. I thought they were rotten because they each were only 1/2 a tooth. It turned out that his teeth never grew in all the way, the dentist said they would have never been normal teeth. When we got home I sucked the helium out of his balloon. Made him mad but Mom felt much better.
