Does Anyone Here Journal?
I started this practice in my teens and have only stopped for a couple of weeks at the most. It really helps me to see the stuff that is going through my mind down on paper in front of me...kind of neutralizes it.
Just curious if there are more on FV who journal?BEF: $$120/$1000

I have on and off over the years. It's so embarassing to read the stuff I wrote about in high school.
I tried to get back to it over the years but I hardly ever remember to keep up with it.
My other issue is that I have an addiction to pretty blank journals.
So I have a bunch of them.

Pretty blank journals are hard to resist! I always think with a pretty blank journal, I wll suddenly become profound and insightful!
The trick for me was to find something so cheap and basic that I felt nothing about wrecking it: writing, doodling and drawing all over it in ways that really wouldn't have made sense to anyone but me.
And yeah, I never reread them!

Every day. Regardless. I'll journal on scrap paper if I have to. I've journaled since I could write.
Yes, I have boxes. Dunno what'll happen to them after I die, but yes, I journal.
When Survivor's first came on the tele - I heard that they were only allowed to bring so much stuff. I thot - Journal and a tooth brush and then after I watched the show, I thot 'They'll read my journal and then the 'Jig is Up'! Ha! I've never applied to be on Survivor.
I once had a security guard at an airport go thru my purse and read it - I always carry my journal w/ me when going thru an airport . . or anywhere - And after a couple minutes of reading she asked me 'You journal every DAY'? I said 'Yes - and you'll be in there later'. She shoved the journal back in my purse and passed me thru.

i go through stages. It seems like I do more journaling when I am depressed and am having a lot of trouble. When i am happier and busy I rarely do! I try to be consistent but I am not.

I've journaled since high school. It's funny how some of the stuff I was writing in the 80's...is still in my life. I, too, love a pretty journal! The $Tree has pretty ones. And I like a nice pen, too. I can't believe a security guard would take the time to read your journal...nice comeback, tho...

i've always wanted to journal and never kept up with it, till i got pregnant then i journal in letters to the baby, so each baby has a journal through pregnancy and then the first few years, and then random letters through the years....which i guess i should make copies of and include in the end of their journals...
i found garage sales to be a great place for blank journals...
