May I suggest a book called The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker? Despite the slightly off-putting name, it's about listening to our instincts in situations like this. It does offer similar advice to what Rhiamon has already given you. If I recall correctly, the author has worked for / owns a security company and has offered advice to actors and the like.

Yes, thank you. I just recently read it and is why I didn't change my number. I got another phone and logged all the calls. I recommend that book to everyone.
