Abuse Can Happen to Anyone

Daisygirl, just by you being there for your friend R and her son and unborn child is one of the best things you can do. My first husband (sperm donor of my three kids) was emotionally abusive, he would leave our apartment and I would have no key to leave and get back into the apt, the phone would ring but when I pick it up I could here them but they could not hear me. I could go on and on. Back then I wished that I had someone to talk to, but I was isolated.

Now I have a wonderful husband and two grown up kids. My life has been hard I suffered from abuse as a child my mom knew so did my mom's sister but no one helped me, this was by two different persons. This is why I do not have much to do with my family.

Your friend is taking the steps to get away from her husband, that is the hardest step to make (it took me 14 years).

Just continue to be there for them.

Update: They are planning to go to counseling. He is not living at the house but they want to give the marraige one more shot.

This is so scary, and it is very difficult to watch. I will keep you posted. Thanks for all of the kind words and prayers.
