    Unhappy Marriage issues...

    My Dh told me last week that he's unhappy and has been for years...that he wants to go to marriage counseling, but doesn't know if he even wants to be married. I didn't realize he felt like that AT ALL. I'm in shock (still) and heart broken. We went to our first counseling appointment yesterday. I think it went fairly well, but am still so upset I can hardly think straight.

    I'm just asking for prayers...that our communication and other issues will be resolved through counseling and we'll come out of this stronger than ever.

    Sending a prayer your way. Just the fact that your dh is willing and open to marriage counseling should give you hope. May this be a start of a marriage that grows to be stronger than before.

    You may recall my husband and I had a few issues not too long ago. Basically he said he was unhappy but rather then talk to me he talked to someone else. Be glad yours chose to talk to you.
    Turned out my husband unhappiness had nothing to do with our relationship but was about himself. We did go to counseling and it didn't take long before he was going to sessions on his own. Things have been going well for us since.
    I too was blindsided with all of this just like you. There is hope. Keep your chin up.
