And the saga continues...
Well, the meeting that the principal wanted was to tell me that the budget cuts were affecting me personally. The carrer ladder I have been climbing actually hurt me more than helped me. The head of human relations came to see me on Thursday morning. He told me that my position as Paraeducator III had been eliminated at my school site and I would be leaving as of March 31st. The news did get better however. I will take a demotion in title only ad go back to Instructional Aide at another school site starting April 1st. How appropriate April Fools Day. Another Paraeducator III with more experience will be taking my position. My principal didn't take my side at all. She just let everything fall in around me very slowly even tho she knew much of it, she just let me assume what ever in my mind. What I dont understand is the fact that there are instructional aides at my own school site that were just recently hired and they will not be affected. How did I go from Classified Employee of the year to this? I feel unwanted, ordinary and dispensible there and the worst part is that all the teachers are mad about it and everyone has a different spin on it telling me to get a union rep because they think that the new principal had it out for me. What if that were true and I did get to stay? Then I would have to work for someone who hates me. Also, the new school site, someone got bumped out by me and I do not know the circumstances. What if they resent me there too. I am unhappy, cant concentrate, and crying all the time. What next. Oh, the good news... Even if I should lose my job altogether, the district will honor their contract with me and continue to finance my education and live by the hiring contract we signed. There is good news in this, its just that there has been so much bad in the last months I am worn out from worry.

Oh Robin, I'm so sorry for all the political bs you are going through. I didn't realize it was so cut throat. With my dd thinking of going into teaching I'm gonna have to start helping her build her some thick skin. That principal really didn't do right by you. Would a pox on them help?
Glad they have to honor the financing of your continuing education. That is definately a good thing.
I want you to know that we value you highly, find you to be extraordinary & indispensible too! Yea for Robin! You hang in there!

I'm sorry you are having to move schools and be bumped back, but look on the bright side, you still have a job, just the other day, you thought you didn't! Maybe this will be a temporary thing, finish your school and try not to worry, everything will work out in the end.
