My dad is in the hospital...*update* he is home.
Hi everyone...
What a day!....
This morning, I was dropping by the village and the phone rings. It was my mom, telling me that she took my to the hospital in the middle of the night, because his blood pressure was high and he had chest pains.
So I tell her I will come to hospital to see him. It's an hour's drive. Well, Daniel, who has been great since he has changed school, decided this morning he would have a bad morning, refused to put his winter coat on, refused to go to school and finally runs out the door, 1/2 hour late for school, with only a small vest on...Finally I phone the school, but he's not there yet after 20 minutes. So Pierre goes to look for him...
In the mean time I have to take Patrick's urine test to the another hopsital...I come back, Pierre tells me he's in school and he is taken care of. His teacher made him phone to excuse himself to us...
So now we leave for the hospital, we get there at 11h15 and my dad can only see one visitor every hour for 5 minutes...so it's me who stays...
He cried and cried and told me he wants to die...He tells me his hot flashes and chest pains started after he watched a tv documantary on handicapped children...which reminds him of Francine...and he cries some more...
I hugged him, told him I loved him, that I needed him and didn't want him to die...I told him Pierre was coming for a visit tomorrow for 3 days to rest, so he better prepare his list of things to do around the house...it made him smile...
Then we left, ate in the car, rushed to Patrick's school, because he was waiting for us to see him in a small school play at 2 pm...That was a joy to see him.
Now, I'm home, Pierre is gone to get the snow tires on our car...I'm waiting for more news from my dad...
What a day this was...It made me think again...
How precious and fragile, life is. Happiness is not always a simple thing to acheive...
Thank-you for listening and if ever you still have a small space for one small prayer for my dad....Thank-you
Lucie

No fair that so much happens at the same time. Sorry your Dad is feeling so sad. Sounds like he just wants to feel better & will, now that he's being taken care of. Sometimes everything seems so overwhelming...knowing that you don't have to go through it alone can & will make things so much better.Hope the sun shines warmly on those you love tomorrow, you included.
