I think this is always a fun idea. Somewhere in the my mind I seem to remember someone else doing this with 100% cotton fabric. Let me check it out and see what I can find. If there is nothing current going on, well then we'll get one started!!
Juju - there are a lot of quilters here - glad that you are one of them!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I have been in many block swaps on various forums. IMHO, the easiest type is to have a hostess. If there are 20 people participating, then everyone makes 20 blocks and sends them to the hostess. (One address-one postage) A return envelope/one-rate box is included with return postage in stamps, not metered mail. The hostess will sort and send out the accumulated blocks.
For some, they don't want to swap addresses with a lot of people but one hostess is doable.

Mahalo Piney for that suggestion. Please clarify something for me - are you talking about solid fabric blocks of quilted blocks?

Maui, those that I have been in were pieced blocks. I organized a swap for 2 years with 40 quilters until it got to be too much. For that one, each quilter had a partner for one block. The next month partners changed along with the block design. Marcia Hohn was very nice to let me link to some of her blocks. The Quilter's Cache - Marcia Hohn's free quilt patterns! Other swaps were when everyone signed up and the hostess chose the block to be made, then the people made one for everyone that signed up and sent it to the hostess with a return envelope with the stamps for returns.

Piney - that's a wonderful site - lots of inspiration. I wonder if there is any interest here for such a swap?
