Scrubbie SWAP
Come join the fun of a scrubbie swap!!
Continuing in the great tradition of the Dishcloth Swap that Debbie-Cat so graciously started, the next swap will be a Scrubbie Swap!! Debbie agreed that a break was in order as she finished up the loose ends of the last swap and we wanted to keep the SWAP energy going!! So to make it easy as we transition out of the last days of summer, this will be a scrubbie swap with pairs of scrubbies being shared among partners.
If you want to participate, please send me your name and address by August 15 th.
I will put all names in a box, draw two at a time and match up swap partners. You will then have until September 15 th to complete two - (2) scrubbie to send to your swap partner.
Whether you knit, crochet, sew, purchase and embellish - it is totally your decision. You can contact your swap partner, if you wish, to find out what color their kitchen so it matches their decor.
I will be placing an album in the picture section of FV so when you receive your dishcloths, take a picture and post in on the album. Make sure you include your name and swap partners name. (If you have trouble doing this, send them to me and I will be happy to place them on there for you)
Let's continue to share the creativity and fun that we had during the first swap!! Mahalo Debbie for starting this great tradition!!

I feel silly for asking this but what exactly is a scrubbie? I mean I understand it's for dishes, but what do you use to crochet or knit one?

Good question - Madhen uses acrylic yarn - like Red Heart yarn and has posted directions for making flower ones - really cute. Let me know if you want the directions posted here.
My MIL uses nylon netting that she cuts into strips - she usually crochets squares or rectangles with the strips - uses about 8 yards each of the nylon netting.
Those are all that I know of so far, but I'm sure we'll all be learning about different ways of making them!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I found a website that has links to crochet scrubbie patterns. It looks like it has a few good ones.

You can also add tulle to make it even more "scrubbier."

You can use the same scrubbie pattern, but using cotton yarn, to make a body scrubbie.
Count me in, MauiMagic.

Glad you are joining us Madhen!! If we make some body wash, we could also make body scrubbers to go with!! Better make sure we let people know the intended purpose of the scrubbies we are giving them!!
