Publishers Clearing House

I posted this on my blog but I thought if I posted it here you would be the right people to ask.I got a weird call today.Has anyone ever got a call from Publishers Clearing house and they didn't try and sell you anything, Just called to tell you that you made it to the last stage of the contest. I didn't think much of it at the time but the guy told me they had called me 3 times and they had finally gotten a hold of me to let me know to look out for papers for the final drawing. I was getting kind of peeved because he was yammering on and on and I was waiting for the line where they tell you, that you only had to buy so many magazines or get a free trial. But that was all he said. I don't know if I should be excited or what. Have any of you got a call like that?I have entered for years and never remember getting such a call.I won't be devastated if I don't win, but wondering if I should clean my house.LOL

Could very well be a scam. Seems pointless to notify someone that they "almost won". Rule of thumb: don't tell strangers on the phone ANYthing. The more they ramble, the less likely they're from a legitimate company.

That is what was weird i didn't tell him anything. Not saying it might not be a scam, but just strange.

Nope, never called me. If they show up at my door, you can bet it would be when I was in my pj's, hair all standing on end (not on purpose either!), and looking my very best.....then I'd be looking all around for Howie Mandell.....
