Smoked Turkey

Quick question...

For those of you who smoke your bird, is it feasible to smoke a turkey for the big day or is it easier to just buy one without the smoking it yourself hassel?

We usually smoke one and roast one. We do a small one on the smoker and a larger one in the oven since not all of us like smoked turkey. It's not any worse than doing one in the oven ~ but our weather here is usually nice at Thanksgiving and I'm not sure I'd want to do it if the weather was cold.

We smoke our turkeys ourselves, it doesnt take much, once you get it going, you only need to check it every so often.

We buy several when they are cheap and smoke them all year long, we like apple wood on turkey the best.
