Things are different this year and change is in the air. Looking forward to Dd shining like a star as she
is hosting the family at her home this Sunday. We're in charge of Champagne & one of the appitizers (by special request}. A mustard sauce (sweet/hot) that gets poured over a block of cream cheese and served with crackers. We'll also be bringing the folding table & 4 chairs
On Thursday it will just be hubby and I and I need my turkey for sandwiches. I need it. So we'll have that with my cornbread dressing with sausage and mushrooms and hopefully some sprouts. If I wasn't such a freak about those sandwiches I'd love to have a cheese fondue with a salad, candlelight glowing and all is right with the world.
Enjoy time with those you love!!!~*Darlene*~

HappyMomma, what are wine sticks?
Just got off the phone with my MIL. Looks like I will be making broccoli casserole to bring. Haven't decided which one I will make yet.
I'm also going to make that spice/pumpkin cake that is posted here for later that evening for when my family gets home. Have all the ingredients now ready to go for that.

My hometown bakery became famous for these and mail order them etc. I had to figure them out ....lol They are red wine biscotti or wine sticks. Here is the recipe:
Red Wine Biscotti or Wine Sticks
A savory biscotti recipe with sesame seeds and red wine. You might not want to dip this in your coffee, but this biscotti would make a delicious side with a meal.
Ingredients:
* 2 1/2 cups flour
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
* 1/8 tsp salt
* 1 tsp black pepper
* 1 1/4 cup red wine
* 3/4 cup olive oil
* 1 egg white, beaten
* 1 tbs sesame seeds
Preparation:
Mix together sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Add red wine and olive oil. Mix until smooth. Divide dough in half and shape two logs, 10 inches long and 3 inches wide. Brush the tops with egg and sprinkle with seseame seeds. Bake in preheated oven at 350F for half an hour. Let cool for 10 minutes. Slice each log into 1/2 inch slices with a serrated knife.
Turn off the oven, and place slices back on baking sheet. Let them crisp up in the oven as it cools.Last edited by HappyMama; 11-20-2010 at 01:41 PM. Reason: recipe correction

Everybody's making me hungry! My parents always want to do the cooking and for the first time my Dad is cooking a different type of turkey recipe that's oriental...don't know the specifics, but it sounds good from what I've heard of it. We'll also be having a rice dish with it using sticky rice, cranberry sauce, two green veggies, pumpkin pie, and I don't know what else. I can't wait to eat!
