I bought a turkey at Kroger here last week for $.37/lb with $10 purchase.
I'm not even cooking turkey for Thanksgiving - going to my father's that day.
I just went ahead and bought one for Christmas and put it in the freezer.
They only had 2 sizes - 13 lbs (smaller than I wanted) and 20 lbs (larger than I needed).
Since the limit was 1 turkey per customer, I bought a 20 pounder.
Lots of leftover turkey for sandwiches, soups, etc.Jean

Safeway (East Coast version of Krogers) offers the same sale. I purchased 2, my Mom purchased 2 (she's supplying our turkey this year). So I have 2 stuffed in my freezer for future use.
They also had a sale of london broils for $1.99/lb so I got 4 beautiful ones for the freezer as well.
Needless to say... my grocery budget is .... empty. The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

We're in the .39 Kroger tier. I don't usually buy one because I don't like the dark meat, but I'm thinking of getting one this year. I could cut off the legs and thighs for a pot of turkey broth some day. But maybe not. I'm thinking about it.
I'm still loading up on their canned goods sale, and want to get a spiral ham. My grocery budget will be empty by the end of the day too!Donna

We do not have a Kroger in our area.
Tops has them for .38 a pound with a $ 25 purchase.
Limit 1. Frozen 10 to 20 pounders.
Price Chopper has a coupon for a FREE turkey with a
$ 50 purchase. Limit 1. Bird can weigh up to 20 pounds.
I am thinking of checking out this deal this week, but if I can't
find items I am happy with the price on, then it won't be the
best deal. But it might be. So I will visit the store later this week.
Super Walmart has them for .68 a pound. No limit. No
minimum purchase. I did buy a nice one there last week.
Just under $ 10.
