DH had planned on retirement in a couple years when we would both qualify for medicare. That situation changed when he lost his job in January.

We are debt free. He is very willing to work. We have taken a serious hit to our mutual fund. Employment is not expected soon. Wrong economic climate. Wrong state. Too old. Not likely to happen.

We are maintaining our debt free status and enjoying our forced retirement.

I am an RN working 10-15 hours a week, but in a place that is much kinder on my body and soul than other places I've worked at. If I continue to like what I am doing, I could probably stay quite a long time! I'll be 50 this year. My husband is a workahlolic and honestly, I don't think he'd do very well not working! Time will tell. We could probably retire on time, but will we want to?
