Hey! It's great to find a place that belives in frugal living! I was first intoduced to "frugality" by the book, "Living Well On One Income."
It's a christian based book, aimed mostly at women, but I couldn't put it down. It made so much sense to me! Now, I find myself suddenly single at 51, and really having to apply all the principles I was introduced to in this simple little book! I'm disabled, a former nurse, (well once a nurse, always a nurse) and enjoying the transitions into becoming a "brand new me."
I currently live in Charleston, South Carolina.
If you have any suggestions, or just want to drop me a hello, please do so! I'd love to hear from others on the same path!

Welcome to the Village! Another great book (in my opinion) is "Your Money or Your Life" by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin. The Tightwad Gazette books are good too.

my story is your story. welcome!
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.
