The Gremlin? Ummmm, it always looked like it had just backed into a brick wall.
Fav car? Hands down, a sassy little '67 Mustang; it absolutely strutted. Of course, it wasn't mine; it belonged to my first boyfriend. He's not around anymore, but the memory of that car lives on.
My first car? I bought a brand new '71 Opel Cadet. It was almost as wide as it was long, pure white, and I called it "The Icecube". Talk about cheap: it was $1900 brand new, with no radio, no air, and a stick.
Current car? I drive a Chevy Tracker. It's just right for me, and the grandkids call it "Grandma's Buggy."Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.
Financial:
Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

My first car was not what I wanted but I dream about having it back all the time. It was a ' 67 Impala, ugly gold with a 283 in it. It was light for a mid sized car but was a tank too. I ran that poor car to death. I really wanted my all time favorite car, 1966 Chevelle SS. My second car was a 1984 Buick Regal. This car was laid out and I loved everything about it but my ex husband totaled it in a nasty fog. Then I got a 1988 Chevy Barreta GT. It had 32,000 miles on it when I got it and when it died it had 254,000 miles on it. Great car. But I guess I should be happy with our baby now. We have a 1990 TransAm that only has 37,000 miles on it and looks mahhhvaluous. We have the build sheet and original sales sticker, it is a WS6. We didn't know this until I found the build sheet in the owners manual.

Wow, reading these posts bring back memories. My first car was a lime green Pinto with a sun roof. It was a great car. Bought it used and paid $78 a month for it. Had it after I got married and my first child rode around in it, too. Then dh didn't like it and wanted me to sell it. It was a two door and it was hard getting the baby in and out of it, but oh, I miss that car. The only car that was truly mine and had the sun roof. Also had rear defrost. I though that was cool!

Our friend owned a 1962 or 1963 split window cherry red vet. It had original black velvet interior. He sold it for $10,000 in 1980 to WRIF radio station for a prize at the auto show. We all went to enter for him to see for fun if we could win it back. No luck. He was mad because they cut the dash board up to install a non stock radio and didin't leave it classic. All 10 of us rode home in my 1964 pontiac green catalina. We liked to cruise in it down the ramp of the parking structure because it had this rolling shocks bounce thing going. (kinda like a ride). 4 people coulda laid down in that trunk it was so large.

I had a couple of cars that were memorial to me for different reasons.
My first car was a used Purple Pacer, I was so proud I bought it myself. I think now how ugly it was.
It blew up on the freeway on April fools day 1 month to the day I bought it for 100.00
My favorite care was my Chevy Mazda 8 cylinder engine 2 door. Only 1 door worked so you had to climb in and out the drivers window or go over the gearshift. No dashboard lights, the radio was AM, no air, I ran around town in that thing for ever. It was held together with bondo, coat hangers, and bailing wire. My dad and I would jimmy rig it and fix it together. It leaked oil every where. It wold go so fast, I got my first speeding ticket in that car. The cops laughed at it and said it was a wonder it would even move let alone speed. I loved that car

I am so enjoying reading your stories!
My first car was a 1963 Dodge Dart convertible. I loved
that car too.
The one in my family who had the car that everyone envied
was my DAD! He bought a new super sport model 1968 Camaro.
I remember that he was looking at two cars and he drove each of
them home for us to look at. One was the Camaro, and the other
was a white Challenger. My Dad loved his Camaro though, and he
kept it for many years before he sold it.
The first time he let me drive it, I almost wrecked it, as it had
such POWER, unlike my dart....lolYou have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.

dianeeileen-No but I loved Arthur P-BABY (Baybe)
My uncle used to work for Saginaw steering gear and then Fords up there. Once I stayed w/ him and was shocked when I saw his Cherry Red cherried out Ford Mustang. He was my dads younger brother by 8 years and therefore so much cooler. He took me for a ride in it. A million cool points that day.

My favorites were my first car -- white Ford Pinto hatchback -- then a baby blue Chevy Cavalier hatchback and the brand new black Chevy Camero I had in the 80's.

Myh first car was a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere v8 318 motor straight transmission. However, my love is the 1955 Plymouth Plaza. My husband still has a 1956 Oldsmobile that was his grandfathers.
