So is 42 just the most boring birthday ever..
I mean.. such a non-event. Almost seems to be a waste of getting older this time, there's just no drama to it..
LOL.. still better over the hill than under it!

Thevail - 42 is definitely not a boring birthday year, nor are any of the rest to follow!! You (all of us) need to decide what we want to do for our birthdays to make them special for us!! Birthdays take a change in direction as we get older, as far as I'm concerned, and we need to take charge and create what is fun for us!!
So ----happy 42nd - celebrate the time away (even if it is at a later day) and rejoice in yourself!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

“Decluttering isn't just simplifying your life. It's having a vision, setting new priorities and using those notions to get rid of obstacles.”

Well, yes, they can be good if we make them good, but some are definitely not very "dramatic." 61 was pretty undramatic. 60 felt like a milestone, and next April when 62 rolls around and I start getting a 10% rent discount will be great. But 61 was dullsville, as they used to say back in the dark ages when I was young.

42 is the answer to the life, the universe and everything. How can that be boring?

My dad says that your age is just a random number, like your address or phone number, and except for identification purposes, can be safely ignored. (His 'random number' starts with an 8!!)
I say, any birthday is a good one, 'cause the only people who don't have birthdays are dead!

Left your birthday message on "the long road" thread...giggle
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

How can it be? You have so many things ahead of you! Wrinkles! (if you think you have them now, just wait) Age spots! Menopause! Gray hair! Your children (if you have them) going off and leaving you!
Actually, I thought the most boring BD was 55. But you're right, they start being less.........um.........celebratory.........after 40.
Still, as you say---any day above ground is a good one.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My husband and I adopted a 5 year old in China on his 42 birthday. I celebrated mine with her. I think 42 was probably the best year ever. Do something you never imagined yourself doing.
Happy Birthday,

Happy Birthday, we are the same age so I am in good company with all the other 42'rs out there. By the way I tell people that age is just a figment of our imagination and my dad agrees. I guess because my dad will be 79 this month and I have never thought age to be old or what ever because he keeps going and going just like the Energizer Bunny and he can work my dh under the barn and he is 44. My granny lived to be 83 and would have made it longer if she hadnt had a medical mistake in the hospital. She went in with a minor problem and something happen uh oh and well God took her. Life happens. My dads uncle lived to be in his early 100's so I figure I still have a loooong way to go if the good Lord lets me. And if my dad is an example cause he still going and was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gerig Disease or how ever you spell it) a muscle disease and was suppose to die in 1980 something and still kicking I cant complain. Every birthday eventful or not especially since I celebrate it with the same day as my mom who is 72 by the way born on her 30th birthday. I am one lucky lady. You kick up your feet and yell happy birthday to me and let everyone hear in within earshot because you deserve it, again Happy Birthday to you.
