I have a third grader - he's 8. His birthday is in October. He was seven when he started 3rd grade. He was 4, turning 5 when he started kindergarten. The laws have changed here now, and kids have to be 5 to go into kindergarten. So say their birthday is at the end of September, they have to wait till the following year to start. - Hope this helps

lol nicsmom, I think you're an honourary third ager. I think it's 50+ but if you feel like including yourself, so be it.
