Question As a senior, would you move in with your kids?

Nope, never. We will do our best to live on our own. Once we are not able, we will move into a senior's complex.

I might if they wanted me. I moved my whole family in with my dad when he needed me. It was a wonderful experience and my kids agree we wouldn't trade it away for anything. He was never a burden to us just part of our family.

I hope I never have to consider it but I'm not gonna completely rule it out either. I don't want to ever burden them and if I had physical impairments I would rather be in a nursing home.

I'm waiting for my Mom to answer this question, but I think she is afraid of hurting my feelings by saying "Are you out of your mind! Deed has CATS!!!! "

Just for that Deed...I might consider it!!!!! LOL

No, though I really would fight a nursing home: maybe senior housing like Deed's MIL lives in.

I would stay in my own house if it were possible.

I have friends who opted to move to an assisted living apartment, only about 2-3 blocks from me. It is a nice place, but very expensive, I think about $1500 a month. It has a lovely dining room if you choose to eat there & lots of activities. They even have a church service every Sunday. A lovely library, piano & computers. Also a craft room & a place to garden.

It will depend on the circumstances --- but we don't have any plans to do that. We want to live independently as long as possible.

My mother is absolutely determined not to live with any of her kids. She lives in an assisted living facility outside of Chicago and it is perfect for her needs right now.

No. My biggest fear is that it would be that I would be a burden. I like being by myself and hopefully I will have my house paid off and will be able to live in my house as long as I can.

I can't imagine it and I wouldn't want to live with my daughter. We have vastly differing views on suitable living environments.

If her home ends up being kept anything like her bedroom is now, I won't even be visiting her much if she ever gets her own place.
