    Default Life planning...

I've been researching third agers on the Internet. There seems to be a lot out there on life planning. Have any of you actually worked through something like this for this third age of your life? I'm curious how you prepare for it? Seems pretty straightforward to me, but maybe I'm missing something? Basically I assumed it was do something meaningful every day, and hang out with people on a regular basis...but maybe I'm being a bit naive and simplistic???

So I guess my question is...What changes are you making or do you plan to make to get the most out of your Third Age?

I am not that I have a plan of sorts, but my husband and I are enjoying being a couple. Our plan is to retire soon and send our days traveling, fishing, horsebackriding and spending time with out family. It seems when your planning your life...life gets in the way. I have also reseached third agers and I am still learning things, but I mostly I just want to live an enjoy my life to the fullest..Blessing..Kathy

I have not read any of the internet material, so I am not exactly sure what the issues are. But just in general about planning, I often think that minimal is better. It is very easy to become obsessive about The Plan. Also, it is easy to become so focused on control. Often it seems to me that if we have a general idea of where we are going, and some general strategies to facilitate it, that is enough. As they say, "life happens", as everyone on this forum knows, and even the best thought out plans (as well as hopes, goals, dreams, what have you) are easily and quickly derailed by so many things. And if we have lived to plan and organize, being thrown out of control can be devasting. So, I guess I would vote for some essential planning, but then ... just be flexible. Who knows how it will really play out anyway?
