Thrifty Thursday 12/31
New Year's Eve - where did 2009 go??? Yikes!
I'm working tonight - if you can call it that! Elizabeth sleeps so well now that she's had her open heart surgery, and she's off most of her meds- I've not got a whole heck of a lot to do.
Gotta sleep a full eight hours today so I can work tonight again.
Need to do some more organizing our stuff in our temporary housing at DD#1's house. We closed on our former residence yesterday and I need to take the check for the sale to the bank.
Other than that, guess I just need to avoid the crazies out there tonight!!
I wonder what 2010 will bring?

Early morning nail appointment, followed by a massage, and party later in the evening. Need to make a potluck dish for the party, and will have to go to the laundry mat to wash some clothes....thanks to the applicance repair company from he11 that has been jerking us around and who I fired earlier today. Their replacement won't be able to fix it until Monday, but that's fine as long as I don't have to deal with the first company ever again!

I vowed to NOT COOK today... NYE is my 'kitchen is closed' day. I will heat... I will not cook...
That being said... I just made 2 dozen meatballs
The sun isn't up yet, so I am still considering this 'last night' and put 5 turkey sausages in the oven. (Feels weird calling them meatballs since they are actually turkey, but turkeyballs just sounds... weird)
I woke up early this morning, so I am using this time to prep for today. Diva spent the night at her BigDad's and I want to get all the 'cooking' done before she gets here.
So far today I have
~ made 2 dozen meatballs
~ put meatballs and sausages in the oven
~ re-cleaned the crock-pot
~ gathered the ingredients for today
~ thought about making some coffee
Later today I will
~ drink my coffee
~ get the 'sweet & sour' going in the crockpot
~ bake some cookies
~ clean the coffee table
~ cut the cheeses for the platter
~ hunt down the misc. things I need for today
~ put the drinks out on the porch
~ hang some streamers
~ take a bubble bath sometime before the Old Man gets home
Later tonight I will
~ Have fun watching silly movies and watching the ball drop with the people I love the most... my Diva and the Old Man
Have a Happier, Healthier and Wealthier 2010 !!!

I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Today I work, then I need to pick up the boys and grocery shop! My meal plan for the month starts tomorrow and I want to start the new year on the right foot and have all the foods I need for this following week! Then I'm going to come home and clean and get ready to watch the ball drop on TV with my two boys! Not much of a "fun" evening for new years but I like it that way!

Have to figure out what to cook today. Thinking maybe just a chicken cass or something of the like. Need to straighen the kitchen from the fried apple pies that I made last night. Biggest thing on the list today is........Need to find out the rules as to what I can and can't write off due to working at home and having a rental property. (wish me luck on this one). Tomorrow, I do taxes and get them out of the way.
P.S. I may have to bury the cat if he dosen't stop being just so dang mean. Yesterday whenever I would go to the bathroom he would guard the TP and attack me if I got near it.

Normal work day for me. I'm just going to stay home tonight and probably do some filing and get caught up on some things around the house. I'm going to make a grocery list and match with some coupons, so I'll be ready when I head to the grocery tomorrow. I'm finally going to cook the pork tenderloin I got out a couple of days ago. I'll probably be having that for dinner for the next 4 or 5 days! LOL
Have a great day!~Kim~

Wow Lady V you go through a lot to celebrate NYE
Food, decor...thats awesome!
Not sure what my day holds...bills are all caught up, I don't owe $0.01 to any LOC or CC
and that was my main concern. I may take off later this afternoon on a road trip tot he bf's for the weekend or I will probably just hang around the house...not sure yet, the day is young.

Pick up the cash withdrawal
Turn in my coin bank to start the year off "clean"
Stripped ham bone from Christmas Ham and am making broth right now, then I will use the broth to make a batch of split pea and ham soup
Menu plan is made up until next Friday, have a little shopping to do but plan to stay out of the store for the most part.
Church tonight at 5:30
Decorations are also coming down and hopefully we will finish all the "moving back home" stuff of dh so it all fits again.

Good morning! I have no idea where we are going tonight, I would ultimately prefer to just hang out at home with the hubby and kids! We shall see...
I didn't get any of the Christmas decorations down yesterday, so I need to tackle that today. Ugh. Still need to work on experiments for ds's birthday party this Saturday. I'll be breathing easy when that's over! Hopefully it will be fun for him and his friends, but it sure is a lot of work!
And always, will be working on that never-ending laundry pile. Happy New Year's Eve, everyone!

Got my walk in, wasn't snowing that hard. Will probably make some soup for tomorrow. Plan on doing some painting and reading today. It will be quiet. Not going to stay up late for the new year. I am already tired and it is not even 12:00.

This week is not what I expected it to be.
Today is our 4th wedding anniversary and we discussed celebrating by heading out to the oregon coast for the weekend and if not that just spending a relaxing weekend together.
Instead we are cleaning, unpacking, reorganizing, setting up, decorating, and doing paperwork. Why? Because we are getting certified to become emergency foster parents to 2 kids that we barely know. 2010 could be really interesting.
So my plans for today are:
~pick-up paperwork from DHHS
~Pay rent
~List out cleaning and organizing chores for each room
~Start tackling each room one by one
~Spend the evening with some friends of oursJulie
Wife to a wonderful hardworking husband
Learning to spend less and save more

Some dull housework stuff today:
~ Fold and put away the weeks of laundry I did yesterday
~ Cook all the stuff on my menu plans through Monday
~ Clean up kitchen after above
More fun:
~ Continue working on new databases for my books, menus, recipes
~ Read, maybe think about an afghan pattern to crochet
~ Poke around on FV intermittently when I get tired of all this
Spend a quiet evening doing all this. Maybe formalize in writing my goals and challenges for next year.Donna
Use It Up 2012:
Lapghans: 5
Baby afghans: 1

Already did the dishes and some laundry.
Spent $103 at WalMart and Sharp Shopper today, and it better last
Of course it helps that I hide things from my boys (21,17,14). There is plenty for them but if any extra is left out they eat it.
I am starting my 'no spend' days tomorrow.
Paid bills, think I'll go take a nap.
Happy New Year!
