Thrifty Thursday, 1/6/11
Good morning!!
Got the fire started! Woo-hoo! It's probably out by now, but at least I made the attempt!
I thought I would be sick today, as I felt so miserable before bed last night. I put the kids to sleep early so that I could head to bed early myself. And lo and behold, here I am! It's amazing what sleep will do for the body!
I found some cinnamon rolls in my freezer yesterday, so I threw those out to rise overnight. My house smells lovely now! I have to whip up some icing, but that shouldn't take too long.
Today is work for me. I have 3 bags of stuff to take to Goodwill, which is an awesome feeling! Our only activity tonight is dd has a bball scrimmage at 5:45. Shouldn't be too late of a night, which I'm also excited about! I was super on the ball last night and prepared a chicken and rice casserole to throw in the oven as soon as we get home after school today.
Have a wonderful day!

Good morning Vanessa! We have our toasty fires too.Makes me feel so much warmer in the cold winter months!I am getting ready to go to the gym, then coming home and going with DH to the sale barn.Later I am going to meet a friend for lunch. Will spend some time in the afternoon on laundry. Hoping for a quiet evening at home...... we shall see. Have a good one!

I miss being able to do laundry during the daytime hours
*shakes fist at hydro and their TOU rates*
Stayed up late last night (vs relaxing before bed) doing laundry. Managed to wash and dry the last load early this am when I woke up to take DF to work. I just squeaked it in before the rates flipped.
Just need to fold the stuff and put it away now - after my coffee. Also managed to unload dishwasher and run errands at the grocery store, pharmacy, bank and Canadian Tire - you'd be amazed at who's already shopping at 8am!
Couldn't believe it was THAT busy! Ran the Roomba while I was out too
Gonna sit back and relax with my coffee at the computer for a bit then get cracking!
Have a great day y'all

Good morning girls. I slept until 9:30
I'm with you Libby, I'm just sitting back for awhile and drinking my coffe, and doing some chatting.Later I have to get a shower, go into town and pick up my paycheck and cash it. Then it will be back to the grind here. I want to tackle another cabinet today. I have a load of clothes in the washer but will wait to put them in the dryer when DH wakes up. I will get some more sorting in the office done, do some reading, and put my coupons away. Dinner will be leftover chicken & noodles.
Have a great day everyone.

Oops I think I missed Wed...Nothing exciting, just a normal day.
We watched a redbox movie "Grownups" it was really funny and I liked it.
Today normal work day. Oh, my hair curling brush bit the dust this morning...grr I will try to find one at thrift or maybe a online deal, till then I will make due. Lunch today with a friend ( I have done good this week & only had lunch out once, today. Well tomorrow, but it is pd by work so not counting that) Tonight I think we will watch another Redbox movie "Salt" if it is available and I have a free code
That's about it today. Have a great day everyone!!Bridge

Good morning all!
Another day at the paid gig. Have some stuff to do, and a meeting this afternoon.
Dinner is homemade pizzas. Ds14 has hockey practice right after school but dh will be home from work in time to take him. Then I have a Boy Scout committee meeting at 7.
I foresee this as a no spend day, but every time I plan that something goes awry, lol!
Have a great day!

Working from home today and I hope to be productive!
Yesterday, my cough from a lingering head cold was absolutely awful...this morning it seems to have disappeared!
My goals for today:
* Eat all (healthy) meals at home
* Walk up to the grocery store to get cat food (and butter)
* try to bill at least 8 hours to work
* wash/dry at least 1 load of laundry
* get a good workout in (Mexico in 59 days = swimsuit in 59 days)
Have a great Thursday, everybody!

My day started out with "Oh Crap" escaping my lips at a decibel that shook the walls

7:21 - wake up
7:32 - jump in the car to bring Diva to morning tutoring
In those 11 minutes I got out of bed, got Diva up, made her lunch, popped the english muffins in the toaster oven, packed lunchbox, got dressed, got car started, and made an egg mcmuffin to go
As soon as I got home, I tossed in stripped all the beds and washed the linens, emptied the dishwasher and reloaded it, scrubbed down the sink and shined it up.
Then I took a much needed sit-down and had my first cup of coffee for the day!
I still have some things to do today
~make lunch
~prep ribs for dinner
~empty dishwasher
~make beds
~vacuum
~wash slider
I know there is MUCH more to do... but I am running on a low body battery
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

On day 6 of the flu from hell. Starting to feel almost human. Even slightly ambitious. Slightly.
Took a big bag around the house and got all the trash out to the curb.
Made breakfast and ran the dishwasher....and swiped down the kitchen with a little more attn. to detail than I have been this week.
Got dressed today. LOL! Believe me, the way I've been feeling, that's a big deal!______

Good afternoon. Today has been a day. Trying to get DD in gear for the day was a tough one. I don't like raising my voice, but today it seemed like every 5 minutes I was telling her to eat, brush her teeth etc. I hate to say that I am happy sheis in school but I am today!
I have more laundry to do. (ha see too much laundry or too little of a washer I'm not sure!) Need to put the 3rd coat of paint on the walls but I am watching my 3 month old neice so that will have to wait until she leaves tonight.
So I will just spend the afternoon cleaning &trying to finish up the laundry. DH is going to pick DD up from school today as he did not have to work. Nice that I get a break, but really hurts the pocket book.
Dinner tonight will be beef stew that I am making from the left over pot roast Tuesday night. I love crockpot meals because you can always turn it into something else and the family does not compalin about left overs!! HA Im tricky lol

Good afternoon. Today is my 33rd anniversary, but we agreed not to celebrate since we spent way too much money on Christmas. Read a few chapters in my book and devotional book. Went to work, came home and did a few loads of laundry, filled the bird feeders, worked on my coupon robin, and getting ready to fix dinner. Will probably go to the grocery store tonight since the weather is supposed to get bad this weekend.
