    Talking Thrifty Thursday

Okay, I've been off the wagon a few days. DD2 had 2 school trips this week, and I went on both of them. Today I have a mystery shop at Olive Garden, so I'm taking my mom to lunch! Yesterday, after walking around Philadelphia for 3 hours with 3-10 year olds, I came home and worked in the yard. Needless to say, I was soaking my feet last night! I collapsed into bed. But I decluttered some trash/boards from the backyard, so I got alot accomplished.

Today's list is small as well. DD2 needs to stop joining everything that comes along! She's in band, choir, an after school dance club, plays basketball all winter, is in our church youth choir, etc., etc., AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

    Feed and bathe baby *DONE
    Dishes *DONE
    early a.m. mystery shop *DONE
    lunch mystery shop
AC Moore, Kmart, etc. with mom for some "stuff"
Choir concert tonight for DD2 at 7:00
    Collapse into bed again!

Have a great day! Looking forward to the holiday weekend (I think, everyone will be home for 3 days!)

I wanna go to Olive Garden. I love that place. YUMMY!! I'm going to join you guys in listing my daily to-do's. Hopefully it will keep me on track.

    Here's mine:

    Make Beds *
Dust and scrub stairs * (they aren't carpeted)
    Wash/Dry Sheets *
    Fold/Put Away Sheets
    Mop front entrance *
    Load/Run dishwasher*
    Clean counters*
Scrub top of stove til it shines*
    Think about dinner*
    Feed Emma her breakfast*
Get Masterbath tubbed snaked (running slow, appt at noon)*
    Windex end tables/TV*
    Vacuum livingroom

A * means it's done. I got most everything done before feeding the baby at 9 A.M. That's when I like to sit and feed her while watching Martha Stewart. LOL! She's taking her AM nap now on the couch so the rest will have to wait. So I jumped on the puter to read the boards.

Hi ladies it has been a L-O-N-G time since being here and I really miss it. It just seems I have been so busy every minute of the day to post for such a long time. The in-laws are coming this weekend so I have been tearing this house apart cleaning it piece by piece and let me tell I know I will be happy that it is so clean but this just blows.
During this past week I have
cleaned every carpet in this house
    washed all the throw rugs
tore apart and put back together the guest bedroom (I am so proud it is sparkling)
dusted all the window seals and door frames
vaccumed all the corners and baseboards
moved the huge area rug out of guest b/room into our b/room went around all the lynolum edges with a scrubby and a bottle of lysol water mix
    oiled all the wood furniture
    windex anything and everything
    washed/scrubbed walls
went through both the dks rooms and put every little thing back in it's place
washed and dried all the comforters
    washed the guest bed pillows
yesterday I washed 8 loads of laundry
today I have stripped the beds and washed all the sheets cleaned all three bathrooms throughly
still need to dry several more loads of laundry
wipe down all the light fixtures
    sweep and mop hard floors
    vaccum carpets
    sweep off patio
clean off top of freezer outside
    cook dinner
clean off desk and wipe down
clean and wipe out fridge (ick I hate this job)
    clean/bleach the kitchen cabinet fronts
DD has helped me so much during all this I promised that after all the work is done tonight that we would shower, go rent a chick flick and highlight our hair, and let the guys (dh and ds do the dinner dishes)
    Have a nice day

WOW!! TamaToe I'm impressed. Wanna come over? <giggle>

Now that it's all clean it only takes a few minutes of daily maintenance to keep it that way.

I hope the visit goes well with your in-laws.

Don't forget to light some fragranced candles for that final touch. I love the candles that smell like you are baking something. Makes the house all warm and cozy. I'm a candle-a-holic. LOL!!

My absolute favorite is English Mulberry by Ambria at Wal-Mart.

No offense but NO!!!! I am so tired right now I could just drop.
Yes it will be nice to have it where I just have to maintain it, we just got through having a garage sale weekend before last so the good is I got rid of alot of stuff (made 150.00 to boot), the bad it I turned the house upside down looking for all the stuff laying around I said that the next garage sale this is gone.
Unforturnately it has been almost 2 yrs since the inlaws have come to our house to visit though we only live 5 hours apart and we have their only grandchildren, I don't know go figure. But they are nice people so it will be good to see them again.
Anyhoo hey thanks for reminding me to light candles that is an excellent idea to top off the nice clean house. And I will definately have to go to Wally World and check out that fragrance you recommended.

I have been really busy cleaning today too. My sil is babysitting my kids for the weekend (Fri night-Mon night) so dh and I can go away for the weekend. I really need the break! So...in preparation for that, I've been cleaning like a madwoman since my sil will be sleeping over here with the kiddos. Usually when I have company I clean the first floor till it's spotless, and I usually leave the upstairs (since company never goes up there). However, since she'll be sleeping here, I needed to clean upstairs too.

I cleaned the living room, downstairs bath, both of my dds' rooms (pulled everything out and organized, pitched, and vacuumed). Tomorrow I need to do the rest of the house and pack!

I am ready to drop too, but at least I will come home to a clean house.

I went to Wally World this morning and I'm sorry to say that they no longer carry the Ambria candles in the English Mulberry scent. In fact I saw no Ambria scents or candles at all. All the candles they have now are trendy looking. My Mill Creek candles are just about all used up. I had been burning those instead of the English Mulberry. If I'd known they were going to stop selling them I would have stocked up. Now I'm going to have to find a new fragrance. My dd didn't have the paitience for me to do any smell tests today. Just wanted to let you know not to waste a trip to Wally World.

OHHHH Bummer ol well I really need to go get a new candle anyways. I really like their Mellon ones from Mainstay I bet that is why the quit carrying the Ambria. I love candles too, I like to burn the Cinnamon and Apple, Cherry during the winter and ones like Vanilla, Mellon, Strawberry during the summer. I cant remember the exact name and I haven't bought it yet but they use to have a white one and I think it was called Angel or Baby kisses. It smelled soooo good to HUMMMM that might of been K-Mart though durrrrr????
But my all time Favorite candle is from Home Interior, I haven't been able to find a rep since moving to this small town. And it has been so long since buying one I cant even tell you the name anymore but it was pink. I just loved sending everyone to bed, turning on my low watt lamp, lighting the candle, curling up with an afgan and my book. They werre like 12.00 but so worth it.
Well thanks for the heads up (though I am disappointed wahhhh )

The walgreens here carries Ambria candles, so does A&P so look there for them. Not my fave, I prefer PartyLite, Cape Cod Candles on the very high end and AC Moore when I'm broke, but I do like Ambria Lavender.
