Thrifty Thursday

Probably not going to be too thrifty. I have to buy back to school clothes for DD's. Sneakers, jeans, etc. I will bargain hunt as best as possible. With Ames going out of business, I know I can go there in a couple of weeks for DD1 and get jeans. She does have some already.

Call unemployment *DONE
feed and change baby
put Picture People coupon in wallet (free pic of Courtney today)
Eat breakfast
straighten up house
pack up for the day out
Take DD1 for her last Hepatitis B shot
TO THE MALL!-meet SIL
Come home, get ready for work

Find something for family to eat for dinner
Work from 5-9

Well, I had big plans for today, but then woke up and it is pouring here in northern New Jersey. I LOVE rainy days, so I think I'm going to take advantage of it by relaxing. Now, don't get me wrong...there are some chores around the house that I need to do, and I plan on it, but I think today, I'm gonna watch tv while I do them. (I used to be a tvaholic and have been very proud of myself the past 2 weeks I've been on vacation that I've been doing all my housework without the tv on, and even when it's done, I've been taking me time to read and relax.) So, today I'm going to:

put dinner in the crockpot -chicken casserole
iron some clothes and put them away
clean off the top of the entertainment center and bookcase in the family room
dust the furniture in all the rooms

I MAY go to ShopRite for more free SOS pads, but only if it stops raining. I don't feel like darting around trying to avoid the drops

I also may run to Kids-R-Us. I have the 20% off of one item coupon and I want to buy a shirt I saw for my old college roommates son.

Then, ladies, I'm taking a bubble bath and reading my book in the tub. I honestly cannot remember the last time I did this. I know I haven't done it since we've lived in this house, and we've been here a year.

Good Morning! Well, my day off is over, and I am due back to work today at 3.

So, I can't be as lazy as I was yesterday. I have laundry to do, and dishes to be washed. So, I am back at being busy.

This has been the most unfrugal month! Can't wait until it is over. Hopefully, Sept will be much better. I need to look over my budget today.

Well, I went to ShopRite and Kids-R-Us after all. I got $23.18 worth of groceries for $6.28. Good stuff. The only thing that I haven't done which is on my list is iron clothes, and I'm going to do that after dh comes home for lunch. I think I'll watch Days while I do it. It's been awhile. I do have to say, I wound up not watching tv while I did the other chores because I turned it on and it just wasn't holding my attention. I'm very glad to know that my tv has lost it's hold over me. I also DID take a bubble bath and read 7 Steps to a Simpler Life while doing it. I also did a no-no while taking my bath and ate a Hershey Bar with almonds. It was total decadence!

There isn't much for me to really do yet since I am waiting for the inspection to be done on the new place but there is a box that has some junk in it I am going to empty and use for packing. I so far have 2 good size boxes that I can start packing just as soon as I figure out what I am taking with me.

Today I did my morning routine normal up until I was getting ready to go walking..i put on my shorts and a tank top..tennis shoes..then tried getting ayla ready..by the time she was ready my shorts stretched so much that they were too baggy on me..then i changed to a skirt, but the waist was too baggy and the belts looked dumb on it, i tried a few different ones..so then ayla started crying since she wasn't getting taken out...and i got hot and upset and depressed

But then Carl came at lunch time with chinese food! Surprised me!!

I decluttered one of my cabinet spaces !! It was FULL of breast pump parts (haven't breast fed for about 9 months now) bottles we don't use and tons of bottle parts..I also ripped out the shelf paper and replaced it with the new stuff I've been putting in..Now I put glasses in that bottom shelf and the shelf that used to have those glasses , I will put more of my stockpile

I want to take a nap ..I just feel so blaahh today..thursdays are the hardest to get through in my week..there is nothing special about this day..no good mail..no trash to put out..no reason to go to the grocery store..and it's the day before the last day of the week, so it seems like it takes forever ..

But I would love to get my act together and finish one of my projects that is due before I get my certificate...I tried finding it..but didn't try that hard

I feel "empty" as I didn't get to post yesterday & today's almost
over!

I worked all day & am trying to relax now. Tomorrow, DH & I
leave to visit my parents (2 hr trip) for the weekend...can't wait!

Betsy, I wanted to reply to your email yesterday about getting
the evening schedule down pat. My ideal/productive evening
would be:

*come home from work
*change clothes
*start load of clothes
*DH gets home before me so he starts dinner
*eat & do dishes
*water plants on patio ("therapy" for me!)
*review mail
*glance at newspaper
*take bath
*get snacks/lunch ready for following day
*get clothes ready
*computer time & bills/paper filing (if needed)
*update to-do list
*SLEEP

(The above is "ideal" to keep household running smoothly,
it does not always work like that!)
