What to do today, what to do...

I need to go into the office for awhile this afternoon to work on a few things.

    I also need to:
    ~ Balance checkbook
~ Make two birthday cards (trying to use up my scrapbook stash!)
~ Mail a birthday card to DB
~ Prep and bake chicken for tonight's supper plus two additional meals for the week (a la "Quick Cooking with Robin Miller")
~ Set turkey out to thaw--this will be my big meal for this weekend plus leftovers for additional meals later in the month that I can freeze.
~ Check on some medical bills--I think we were billed twice.
    May Goals:
Only $300 for groceries this month - $206/$300
    Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
    No wasted food!
    Stick to budget!
    Track spending DAILY
    Get checkbook balanced
    Save $200 toward EF: $85/$200

2012 FV Challenges: Try New Recipes Challenge: 22/52, Menu Planning Challenge: 21/52, Grocery Reduction Budget Challenge, Change Jar Challenge: $27.81 as of 1-14-12, Lose A Pound A Week Challenge: 3/48, No Wasted Food Challenge

    2012 Goals

    1. To pay off CC (only $917.15 left!) and never again charge more than I can pay off each month.
    2. Snowball the CC payment into Sears Credit Card bill (no interest) and get it paid off ASAP.
    3. Snowball the CC and Sears card payments into hospital bill (due w/ Baby #2 via C-section in mid-January). Pay that off ASAP.4. Snowball payments into DH's student loan (as of 12/4/11 there's still $4770.84 remaining). Pay off by 12/31/12.
    5. Keep our grocery budget to $300 each month.
    6. Use Dave Ramsey's budget sheet and get on track with this each pay period.
    7. Get and keep checkbook balanced and keep an eye (weekly if not daily) on our e-statements.
    8. Get savings account up to $8,000 (incl. emergency fund)
    9. Make 2 Christmas gifts per month: 0/24.
    10. Get our home organized: use a receipt book, keep my coupon organizer in check, have a touch-once policy for paper (touch once and then file or toss).
    11. Achieve "give or get" goal of $1500 for the board I serve on by 9/30/12.
    12. Taxes filed by March 17.

    Wink Today is looking up

Today is looking much better for me than yesterday.

The mechanic called late yesterday afternoon to say my car was repaired, ready to be picked up and it was a simple fix. The verdict? I ran out of gas. OK - before you just bust a gut laughing at me, my gas needle had been acting up the past couple of weeks. It was not telling me how much gas I actually had. Needless to say, my mechanic got a good laugh at me. But, he's been a friend of ours for 20 years so he was not surprised I did this.

    Today looks like this...

    *Clothes need to be washed

    *Dishes need to be done

*Bed sheets need to be cleaned

    *Floors need to be swept

*Need to put a couple of checks in the bank

*DS has a a basketball game this evening

*Dinner is a roast, potatoes, carrots, salad & ice cream cookie sandwiches

Have a safe and happy day, y'all!!!

I've already done several loads of laundry, folded it all and put away most of it.

Got our lunch packed up and we are headed to the pool for a few hours.

Hopefully, the weather will cool a bit tonight and I can get out and weed the veggie garden.

Prepare a quick dinner, then off to T-ball!

Should definately be another no spend day. Going for 5 in a row this week!

Smile Tuesday already and Monday hasn't ended

Well, I can't believe it's Tuesday already. I need to get to bed. Today I did about 6 load of laundry and each load was dry before the next one was ready to be hung up. I love having a clothes line. Free, get's me outside and doesn't cost a thing! Grilled tonight but it took a few tries to get the steak done enough to eat.
Tuesday calls for a trip into town to DMV and to drop off papers and take one kid to a playdate and the others to the park mabey. If we wait till Wednesday we can go to the growers market and the park at the same time and then the kids could feed the ducks too. Probably will do that instead.
Well God bless and stay cool in the heat!

Kids have camp and I have work. I'm only at work until 2 or 3, but the kids are in camp until 5. So, after work, I'll be coming home to vacuum, as Matthew is afraid of the vacuum, so I do it when he isn't around. I think I'll also start pre-packing for our vacation that we leave for on Saturday. I need to contact my piano students to set a schedule for the summer, as well.

Dinner is leftovers and I also plan to hit the treadmill as they are predicting storms here. (Big surprise)

I am so far behind in everything so doing something is better than nothing. I am going to clean out my closet and strip the bed. I have to change pocketbooks and I have no idea about what we are having for dinner more than likely leftovers. I made a big antipasto for lunch yesterday and have some of that left also made a beef roast so I will do something with that. We are suppose to have nasty storms today so I won't be catching up outside. My energies will go toward inside work. I almost forgot I have to balance the checkbook and call the phone company to see if I can reduce my bundle package without any penalties. Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Busy day planned here. I am trying to get the morning routine done. I need to pick up the pet's flea medication from the vet and price a new fan for the bedroom. Ours quit working and we cannot sleep without the hum from the fan.It was a restless night.I have some cleaning to drop off, also need to pick up more protein powder for my post workoput shakes. Then coming home to work in the garden. That will probably take the afternoon. Supper, then I am meeting a friend for tennis in the evening. Come home, clean up and fall into bed. Maybe read a book. Hope you all have a good one!
