    Default Tightwad Tuesday, June 12, 2012

    Got a walk in this morning. Have some half chickens roasting in the oven, they were on managers special! Luckily it is cool outside so the windows are open and fans going and the oven isn't heating the place up. Does smell good. Will divide them up and freeze. Thought about doing them in the crockpot but decided to roast them instead. Still need to make lunch. Put away laundry. It has already rained a little. Supposed to rain this afternoon. Have an appointment later on.

    After our staycation last week - even though I was working mornings - DD was home!! - back to reality today. No eating out folks - making oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast and a Chicken Caesar salad to take for lunch. Drinks are ready to go also!!

    At Market Basket this morning, I picked up some discounted veggies:

    2 lbs of carrots for 50 cents

    3 lbs of potatoes for 69 cents.

    The carrots will be raw snacking/salad and two potatoes will be baked then topped with sour cream and chives. The other two potatoes will be cut thin and fried with eggs.

    Used leftover's for snack time for the kids today. Reused the coffee grounds today and only used 1/2 a dishwasher tablet on today's load. Also washed one load in cold water.

    I picked raspberries.Havent had the air on yet this season, we have saved so much on costs there.Bought a Father's Day gift... discounted for cash.

    Ate home and washed a blanket in cold
    washed down the deck yesterday so we sat out and played w/ the dogs a bit.
