    Thumbs up My electric bill

Just got my current electric bill: $11.63! That's with a whole month of my new tiny fridge! I turn off EVERYTHING except the fridge & bedside clock(and I think my stove may have a clock) when I'm not using them. It can be done!
    Oh - I don't have a washer/dryer, so I'm sure that makes a difference.

WOW, I am SO jealous! In peak summer and winter times, the electric bill for my 1600sf house is over $300!!! You're doing great, keep it up!

That's super impressive. Do you have a fridge? If I can keep mine under 100 I'm ok. If I can keep it less than 90, I'm thrilled!!! It usually hovers at about 100, give or take tennish. I see a big difference when I hang my clothes instead of dryer dry them.

Wow! That's a great low electric bill! I'm jealous Our most recent bill was $194 (we get billed 2 months at the time) and I was thrilled that it was under $200 after this last heating season (we're all electric) Congrats!

Yes, I have a little bar-type fridge, but it's bigger than most as it has a seperate freezer on top (instead of the tiny interior freezer like most bar fridges). I'm looking at getting a washing machine that will only add about $1/month to my electric bill. I'll hang clothes to dry.
I'm also impressed with DBF's electric bill. His house is all electric (and I can't get them to shut things off) but his was only $75. I use his washer/dryer every weekend. I'd say they do (including me) 5 -7 loads of wash each week. I did convince him to leave off the "heated dry" on his dishwasher. I wish I could convince him to do more. There's no way he'll hang clothes to dry or use a power strip for the tv's. He budgets $100/month and is fine with that (Ugh!)

That is an eye opener. What was the bill before?
    Just curious.

That is awesome! My bill has a fixed "facilities charge" of $13.95 and a "franchise fee" of $1.92 per month (whatever those are! ) before any electricity charges are even added!

That's awsome! Our base rate is $7.87 and then electric useage added. I would just love to get ours down to below $100.

Since I've lived here (November) my highest bill was $15.66. I had a huge fridge plugged in for just a week that month and I was running a small room heater occasionaly. When I was looking to move here, I called the electric company and they said the "average" bill from the previous tenents was $25-$35 per month.
I'm "lucky" in that my electric company only charges me a $4 "customer fee". My DBF pays $8 (he has a large house). I really wish they would make it a percentage of the bill though, since that $4 is about 34% of this bill...

Wow! Great fees! I wish mine were as cost effective. Mine are approx 60% of the bill.

Nice job! Ours is usually around $70 per month, but I'm trying to get it lower. Next step: a clothesline.

I was just wondering do you live in a house, apartment, trailer and does anyone else live with you? Also do you cook and bake on a traditional stove or do you use a hotplate or something else? Do you use a disherwasher? TV? Radio? I was just trying to figure out how you could keep it so low. I know you said you don't have a washer/dryer.

There are 4 of us her and although I try to keep things down no one else wants to cooperate including my dh.

I live in a duplex by myself. I do have a dishwasher and 2 tv's with dvd players. And I have a full size stove/oven combo and I love to cook. I do have the tv's on surge protectors and flip them off when I'm not using them.
