Baxjul! If you're using a ceilling fan AND the AC you'll never get your electric bill down! April's was $131 and you want it UNDER $100.

Just thought I'd throw that in. lol!

    Counter-clockwise

Check to see whether you feel a breeze while standing directly beneath the operational fan. Your fan's winter setting will force air upwards to displace hot air that collects near the ceiling. Once your fan has been correctly set for summer, the air will be directed downward.

in summer, turn it clockwise. this causes the "wind chill" effect.

hmm... well the instruction book that came w/mine recommends turning it clockwise in summer. it's all about the bend in the blades how they circulate air.

i wonder if there are different types of fans now... cuz mine always works by cooling in the summer by switching it to clockwise.

    *confused*

    LOL

Funny you posted this. I was just discussing it with DH. I had posted a thread about this same thing about a year ago and I had told him I would have to go look up my post and make sure I had the fans going in the right directions. Here's my old thread:

Okay, I'm looking at my fan, feeling the breeze and it is running clockwise! I'm so confused.

I turned all mine to counter-clockwise last night. I can definitely tell a difference.
