Default how high can I go

we keep our central air around 74 and are fairly comfortable

I run a family childcare so we are here during the day but in the basement where it is cooler.. infact the registers are usually shut until it gets in the 90's

so I was wondering if I turned it up a few degrees and dh lowers it when he gets home would we notice the difference in comfort and savings...hmmmmm

We have a heat pump so an auto thermastat is not possible for some reason.

Do not know if you will save any $$ but we keep ours at 80 degrees during the day and 85 at night.

Well I turned it up to 80 upstairs and down here in the basement it is holding at a comfortable 76 The children are quite comfortable though I did turn on a fan after we had been playing outdoors.

just have to see how much it saves us
