Light Company (Vent)

I'm checking over my light bill and see they have me paying $100.00
more than I owe.
I call them up and explain it that my payment plan ( to catch up was wrong )
Says it started in 2005 at $505.00 ( I pay $10.00 a month to catch up ) so I tll them I have paid $380.00 off so far nor $280.00

She says well we changed our computer program in 06 and it started over with the orginal balance ,but we can't go back and check 05 as we wiped it out with the new system.
Thats why we started everyone with the original balance from 05 in 06.

Then she tells me that my balance was $605.00 not $505.00 like it says on my bill.

Does this make sense to anyone.
They wiped out a whole year of my payments Added another $100.00 to the total . Said it was typed wrong on the bill at a lower
amount than what I owe.
Excuse me but It sure looks like a lot of people may have got took
if they did that to everyone.
Then has the gall to say they don't get a profit from the bill.

They never sent a copy of the agreement just added it to the bill so I have no way to dispute this.
So in my book they made an extra $280.00 off of me. ( No profit )

Total BS. Do you have copies of the old bills? If you can prove your case, provide copies to the utility company, and if they still won't budge, call the utilities commission for your state.

Also if you have copies of your checks. The bills and checks together leave no room for an arguement.

Each bill ought to reflect the payment made if you can't easily come up with all the checks.

If I remember correctly, you use money orders over checks, correct? Did you keep the copy of the money order or the little payment stub??

Yes moneyorders! I did keep all of them. I just need to go through them all and put them together.
