Default Well, they said they were raising the electric...

rates and they sure did!!!! My bill jumped from $151 to $198.

I've been unplugging more, not running dryer, etc.... I don't think we will ever get ahead!

I feel THAT pain. I just cringe everytime the dehumidifier kicks on.

That's a big increase, mine also went up last month about $25, and I have been unplugging things, using candles, etc.... nothing ever works these days.

Mine increased $75.00 this month. I about died when I saw it. I know one reason why it was higher (besides the rate increase). Early in the summer, I plugged in another (older) freezer for stockpile items. I'm going to unplug it again. It does me no good to stockpile freezer items if I have to pay through the nose for electricity...GRRRR!

Our utils were up close to $100 this last billing cycle too. It's been hot, and this old 1940's house doesn't have good air circulation, so we have window units we run on the top floor in addition to the household AC. Sucks the money right out of the budget.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Ours is running around $250 right now that's up about $75 from last year, next month should hit $300 according to the readings. Every time I walk outside and walk past the meter seeing it spin like a flying saucer about to take off i cry a little on the inside. We've started turning up the house a/c and just running one window unit in the living room during the day. I'm just thankful we live in the country and are on co-op power, the people living in town are suffering from $500+ electric this summer.

    Summers in Texas ....
