Default Utility Payment Plan $1 less

Every September I get the new estimated utility bill for the monthly payment plan for the new year. Well, it is going to be $1 less a month for this year. The past few years my bill has always gone up. So all the electricity monitoring and heat reduction this year really paid off. I have actually been dreading receiving the statement. Boy am I glad I joined this website. I used many of the ideas for saving on utilities. Hate to think how high the bill would be if I didn't use the suggestions.

    Thanks frugal village.

Anyone else seeing their utility bill going down?

I don't think the total off the bill is down. I need to check the KW used to be sure. I just dumped $750 in a front load washer, and bought a mess of pig tail low juice lights , I cant tell if it did any good or not. I think teenagers use an extra 10000 kw for each year they get older. SC

I, too, am grateful for the energy saving advice received on FV.

Thanks to the changes I had made plus the extra ideas learned here, I am finally ready to sign up for the budget plan on my gas bill (heat and hot water).

My budget plan will be $192/month for heat and hot water for an 1800+ square foot house built in 1920 and located in Western NY. I will work to get that down even lower, but I am doing cartwheels over the $192 with Winter just around the corner...

That's great. I should pay more attention. Mine just keeps going up and up.
