June 1st, Just turned the heat on :(
I couldn't take it anymore. It's been raining now for 10 straight years (that could be a slight exaggeration), it's cold and damp, I've been wrapped in a wool blanket all day, and I can't digest anymore tea.
It was actually only down to 19C in here, which is what the thermostat is set at in the winter, but I'm tired and can't handle the cold. I jacked it up to 21 and it feels so good!
But, come on, it's June already! Where is my warm sunshine??

It's chilly here too. It's 54F (12C) outside but still fairly comfortable inside. But we had a frost advisory last night & this morning. Hello? Mother Nature, it's JUNE!!

You can have mine. It was over 80F before noon today. (~25C) Going to get even warmer this afternoon, and very muggy.

The weather has been crazy here too. I would have liked to have had the heat on last week, but we have the window a/c units in the windows now, so it just wouldn't have made sense. But I kwym about it being so cold in *June*.

How about if I send you 30 degrees F so that my 90's sizzling heat will be low 60's?

Thanks for the offer, I'll take it. It's 9 outside - which according to my converter is 48F. I think 30 degrees would make it just about perfect.
How soon can you get it here?

Goodness, I'm sorry sweety! I'm glad to hear that you turned your heat up though. I always feel that there is so much difference between "too cold" and "too cold AND damp". I can cope with cold, but damp is just freakin' unpleasant.
It'll be over pretty soon though.
For right now though, why not enjoy doing a few of the things most of the rest of us already miss.
Make yourself a lovely cup of hot cocoa, put on fluffy socks and a sweater that could double as a yurt wall!Last edited by Thevail; 06-01-2009 at 04:00 PM.

I''m in Ohio and they were saying it was supposed to get down into the 30's last night! I don't know what it did go down to, but the heat did kick on. Now tonight will be perfect, 58 degrees.
The next 21 day forecast calls for highs in the 70's which is pretty cool. We are in the foothills so it's usually cooler in this area to begin with.

We have had wacky weather here in Minnesota as well lately. Today it was in the 60's and it is suppose to get up to the 70's by Thursday but the nights are hovering around 30. Too cold to plant anything above ground yet! I don't think we are going to be getting a summer this year.

We had 28 here yesterday morning. Brought in our hanging plants and the flowers for the area in front of the house. The veggie garden is just too big to cover. We have a few leaves frosted on the tomatoes, and potatoes. I know I have to replant the cukes if I can find any more plants. Some of the squash look iffy so may have to redo them. We had a hard frost the 19th of May so we had waited till then to get stuff in. The cold crops are doing great though. If I could just slow the hubby down in planting stuff. Did better this year than last though.
We had to turn our hot side wood furnace back on for a few days.
Son's wife went to town yesterday evening to get a few bags of pellets for their pellet stove. She said the house felt cold.Last edited by ladytoysdream; 06-02-2009 at 06:41 AM. Reason: more info

I know what you mean about the chill. I used the last of my oil in the tank yesterday and I have 1/2 bag of pellets left. I just might have to go buy a couple bags just to have in case of anymore cold weather. I haven't planted my veggie garden yet. I figure they won't grow due to the cold or the seeds will rot in the ground with the cold and rain. Oh well, I guess I could buy veggies this year at the Farmer's Mkt. I guess we just have to make due till Mr. Summer makes his arrival. Stay warm and those of you that are hot stay cool.
