Default What do you pay for TV?

I have the least expensive plan you can have that still has Sprout and Nick Jr and my bill is $91 a month.

Its insane how much TV costs. I think my 5 yr old is just going to have to get used to watchinig moves/dvds. I hate my tv bill the most. We only watch about an hour and a half a day during the week, a bit more on the weekend.

I wish it was like electricty, you pay for what you use.

Directv for us is about 60-70/month depending on if we buy any movies.

Our cable is very reasonable. We have a cable/internet/telephone bundle that costs $130 per month, including taxes, fees and miscellaneous charges.

    Some of the features include:
    *High speed cable internet
*Phone line with caller ID, non-published number, voice mail, call block, call return, call forward, etc...
*Digital cable with a few hundred channels, including a couple of pay channels like Encore, etc...
There are other things that come with it, but these are the ones I take the most advantage of.

DH calls every year and negotiates our yearly rate. They try to raise it to the $150-$160 range and he gets us anywhere from $120-$130.

I LOVE television and it will always remain a fixture in my house.

I pay a grand total of $0 as I gave my television away. I do have a DVD player and am on the $17.00 per month netflix plan (3 DVD's out at a time). I do not miss television and the commercials were driving me crazy.

If I didn't have my son, I think I would completely cancel tv. A few years ago when I was separated I had no tv and I really didn't miss it all that much.

I'm going to try to call and see if they have any "specials" going on. $90 is just too much!

I don't have a computer at home and my land line only cost me $28 a month so a bundle wouldn't work for me.

I haven't given in and subscribed to cable or satellite yet....we'll see how long I can hold out lol. We've actually never had cable or satellite since we moved in together 5 years ago. We watch shows online and movies, too. Actually, right now is the most "TV" we've ever had...and it includes a grand total of 5 (Yes, count them, FIVE) channels in English. Honestly, with those 5 channels, we can usually find something to watch lol...sad, but true. I think being on the water hinders our ability to get any more than 5 local channels...we really should be getting more like 12 or 14. Oh well.

$29.99 for cable with Showtime. It's only for 6 more months, but it works. When they raise the rate, I will probably cancel or downgrade.

I actually just called and renegotiated my cable/internet bundle. We pay approximately $86ish for internet adn our cable, which includes cable channels, an extra set of channels, HD, and some movie channels.

I had cable and cancelled it last month. I now have an antennae and the $8 per month Netflix plan. I watch a lot of Netflix through my Wii.

I thought I would miss cable horribly, but so far so good.

Nothing really, we watch free TV with the converter box, Hulu, lots of VCR tapes/DVD's. My oldest has netflix, but we haven't watched a movie in months. He watches on his computer.

I don't know if we will ever have pay TV again, it been about 5-6 years or more since we had cable. I think the only thing that my DH misses is his sports channel, I miss the decorating channel, I can't even remember what it's called, and DS1 misses the History channel, DS2 was so little when we stopped he does not miss anything.

Truthfully it became hard for us to justify when we had other really big needs in our household, so we stopped. I just wish we could get better reception.

I think we pay about $42-ish a month for channels 2-22 and high speed internet. We also have Netflix on their smallest plan where we get 2 movies a month and 2 hours of instant view. We're just never around long enough to watch much tv.

So true -- we let go of our favorite channels and went to the smallest package on Dish Network, plus local channels so we can get good weather coverage, and it costs about $31.00 per month. We'd love to just get our favorite channels, which would probably be a dozen or less.

well I just called and dropped my current package down to the next level. I'm actually really bummed about this! I know I'll get used to quickly but it just stinks! Wah!

My bill should now be around $70.
