Question Anyone else sitting in the dark right now

I am .I keep the lights off all day and at night we have one lamp on,or if the tv is on no lights(unless we go potty)when I read at night i light 2 HM candles. My power bill is going down down down.

The only thing is when dh family comes over they complain cause there are no lights on,so they go around my house turning all the lights on.I go behind them shortly after and turn them off(they are almost always here during the day so I just open a few blinds.I'm thinking of keeping a few flashlights around for when they come over..........

    ok just kidding

No, I don't sit in the dark. I try to limit what lights are on during the day time but won't strain my eyes to see when it's dim (as it is today). I am always running around to turn lights off after dh though....I don't think he ever learned that the switches can be turned back off after you leave a room....there will be days that he has four or five lights on throughout our small house...no need.

We have a lot of light in our house during the day--we roast in the summer because the sun comes in so much. I don't put the lights on unless I can't see something. My dh is the same way--he turns on lights and forgets to turn them off. It drives me nuts; especially when I find out that he's left the basement light on all night He *is* getting better about it though. I am training the kids to turn them off right when they leave a room.

I'm training my kids to do the same, well atleast dd since ds isn't old enough yet to even walk.ANyways I told dd everytime she catches someone leaving a light on that she comes and tells us and she gets a sticker on the chart with the persons initial by it who left it on,at the end of the week she gets a nickle for everytime she caught someone.Needless to say it is usually dh that has to pay up.

Ok, it'e genetic! DH and my boys can't turn lights off either! I use one at the most during the day and am fine. When the boys come home, the upstairs lights come on adn when DH coems home, you could perform delicate surgery in our house! I have turned off (count 'em) TEN lights in our house at one time! There were still one or two left on--enough to see whit, BTW!

I keep our lights off during the day and lights are on at night only in the room(s) we're using. I have a hard time watching tv in the dark (gives me headaches), but we have in the past lit a bunch of candles and watched tv by candlelight. I'm going to have to start that again, especially now that we are in a new house and we have recessed lighting in the living room - it heats up the room fast!

I'm with you Kim...I don't like TV in the pitch dark, but candle light is good!

All our blinds are open during the day - evenings, lights are only on where we are...I even unplug the nightlights during the day!!

I don't like the dark if I am in a room the lights are on. I like to read so I need the lights on.

mine are off all day long, I open blinds for light. At night the only ones on are where we are, except for the night lights in the base of our lamps. DS & DH are both afraid of the dark! HAHAHA no not really just my son.

I always just have my curtains open during the day, at night, as part of our reduce utilities challenge we have one lamp on in whichever room we are in and then we take a hurricane lamp up to bed. It puts out enough light to see us up the stairs and then into the bathrrom for a wash and brush up then into bed.

    Romantic too!

No lights here. Just what I'm getting from the computer. No heat on either except what's coming from our wood burning fireplace. Trying to hold off as long as possible turning that heat on.

No lights during the day. I open the blinds. DH thinks this must be motel 6 because he leaves them on constantly (even if he leaves for work before me when I get up there is at least 1 if not more lights on.

I turn on the light in what ever room we are in and the rest usually stay off.

When I was little I remember my mom complaining a lot because my brother would leave a room and leave the light on and turn on the others all over the house.

Ok it MUST be the missing chromosone b/c my family gets up and leaves way earlier than I get up and all the lights are ALWAYS on. I swear it drives me crazy. I get up around 11ish and by then the lights have been on for at least 4 hours. Ughhh....
