Our heating bill - YAHOO!!
Here is the difference in our heating bill from no insulation to insulation. I can't wait until we get the m/bedroom done to see how much more of a difference it makes.
~ Oct 18 - Nov. 16/02 we used 319.008 cu metres of natural gas. Our bill was $124.04 (no insulation)
~Oct 17 - Nov. 15/03 we used 154.004 cu metres of natural gas. Our bill was $74.00 (all insulation except m/bedroom)
~Oct. 18 - Nov 17/04 we used 132.002 cu metres of natural gasl. Our bill was $64.07.
We've cut our heat way back this year and dressed warmer. We've also had 3 increases since last year at this time.
Gotta love insulation!!

Early Bird, we put in all new doors and windows 2 years ago (except 3 front windows in the living room and one kitchen window). We have acrylic plastic on those.
When they put the doors in, they used very expensive weather stripping.
Our heat (natural gas furnace) is set at 65F during the day, at 60F during the night. We've learnt to add more blankets and all 3 of the kids stayed covered up. I also will turn the heat down further if its a nice sunny day and open all the blinds to let the sun heat the house.
We all wear heavier clothing and if were watching a movie and its cool, we just get a blanket and snuggle under it.

That is so awesome CJ - I can't wait to check the difference in ours now!! What kind of insulation and where did you put it? I think this house came with R4 (does that sound right??) and NONE in the ceiling + we have a vault where the two halves came together (manufactured home) is yours a traditional stickbuilt flat ceiling or like ours?? They just raised our rate in August and got another rate increase approval for December!!
Does your furnace have an electric fan?? And is your house heated on one level or two (or more)?? sorry for all the questions but you are the frugal guru around here!!
