heat yet?
Wondering who has yet to turn on their heat? We have been building fires in the wood stove but haven't turned on the heat just yet. I went and pre- paid some propane this week and nearly fell over at how little $200 bought! We will be using our stove as much as possible this year.

OH yeah, our heat has been coming on now for well over a month! We keept the thermostat at 65º. We don't have a wood stove or anything else so this is our only source of heating. We heat with fuel oil.

We had the woodstove(s) going, but haven't had to turn on the heat yet. After paying for 500 gallons of oil this summer (ouch!), I'm determined to hold off as along as possible.

Our heat is on too, but you wouldn't know it to walk in my house. I keep it down so low, 62-65, trying to save on the electric bill. We own lots of blankies and sweats......LOL!!!

Yea, our heat is on. Have fires in both fireplaces to keep the gas bill down. The paper reported that we can expect a 19% increase in gas prices this year.

I am in So. California and it has been unusually cold here for the last week or so.......in the lower 30's when I take the kids to school in the morning......ice on the car......cold!!!!!! This is the first year in many that we have had the heat on this early.......I am usually able to wait until January! I only turn it on to take off the chill in the morning and then a little in the evening when we are all home!

We had some unusually cold weather for this time of year the last couple of nights. It was 61 in the house when I got up this morning, but we haven't turned on the heat yet! We piled the beds with all the blankets/quilts we have last night (it got down to around 35 here last night) and did just fine. We're bundled up inside the house and doing okay. We're supposed to warm up to the upper 60's today with a low tonight in the low 50's and it should continue on that trend for the next few days (or so the forecast says).

We only have eletric heating, so we have turned ours on a few times at night only. I would love a fireplace or a wood burning stove to save electricity, but will have to settle with what I have.
