The laundry is just about done drying. I noticed this year that DH hung a tarp in the basement, it makes the heat stay in one spot and this is where I have hung the clothes lines. I am only able to have three, one long and two short, so there isn't much room, but with the heat contained in this area I have saved so much money on not using the dryer. The clothes dry really fast and I have washed three full loads of laundry just today and the last load is on the line now! I feel great about it! Just wanted to share!
Michele - do you have to iron when you hang dry - I am kindof a freak about ironing and have tried to get away from that - but now that my dryer is taking the proverbial dump on me my clothes are coming out so wrinkly - and I am spending hours ironing again ( I am bad - I even do underwear) so is it the same with hang dry??
Good for you! My dryer hasn't been working well lately, so I'm going to start hanging more clothes again. I love the feeling of doing four loads of wash and only having to dry one!
This is great. I want to air dry our clothes more often. I sometimes feel like the dryer is always running. ugh

I try to hang up as many clothes as I can to dry. I do end up using the drier for sheets, towels, and underwear. I really don't iron. I will sometimes put the clothes in the drier for about five minutes to take the wrinkles out and then hang them up to dry. It works out pretty well.

Kimmee- I don't iron. only for weddings, funerals and fabric!
Most of what DH and I wear are jeans with turtlenecks and sweaters. When I do wear something nice in warmer weather I will then break out the iron. I feel the jeans wrinkles get out fast once you get moving and the wool sweaters hide a lot of wrinkles, so I'm feeling okay with it for now.
