    Smile Woohoo!

Have all our wood all stacked and ready for next years heating season.

We ended up with with almost 5 cords of wood! The pile is around 45ft long, 5ft tall & 2rows deep. Extra hard time of getting the wood from point A to where it is now looking ever so lovely, so we are happy campers.

We prepay our heating oil every year too (to lock in a lower price) and will start the year with a surplus from this year due to heating more with wood. So our heating is pretty much covered for next year. It's a nice feeling when hard work pays off.

Nice bit of planning, Darlene. I agree with the bit about hard work paying off. Isn't it a great feeling.

That's terrific. And what a feeling of richness and comfort to look at the lovely stacks of wood.

I mentioned to my son yesterday that a tree looked like a good candidate for the wood pile. He scoffed and said, "you don't need wood NOW!" and I explained that people plan ahead and get their wood in early so it can season. AND you don't have to cut it and haul it knee deep in snow.

    You did great!

We're gonna be as snug as bugs. Just going to be the two of us since the kids will be going off on thier own.
