very frugal long distance phone calls
I downloaded Skype about a month ago and finally used it for the first time yesterday. I talked to my friend Susan for over an hours (she is 2000kms away) and it didn't cost either of a penny! The quality was good overall, it did fade in and out a little at times but we could always hear each other.
All you need is a headphone with microphone and the free software. The download is at http://www.skype.com/

I am going to check that out. Sounds like a great plan. I don't have long distance on my phone so this may be just what I need.
Thank you Rhonda!

We do some of this. My husband uses team speak and several other talk programs to talk to fellow gamers.
My family isn't really up on this stuff. My sister doesn't even have a computer or internet and my parents and brother don't have it fixed that well.
My parents are only a few blocks away though.
