Mood lighting?
I'm always mindful of our energy use and resources so I wanted to pose this question to my FV sisters and brothers.
Do you have and use any mood lighting in your home? Do you have any small lamps that you leave on? I have 2 small lamps that I use in the evenings. They are my small rooster lamp and another small candlestick lamp with a shade on it, which sits on my old secretary. We usually have 2-3 other lamps on in the living room at the same time (but I use flourescent bulbs in these to cut down on energy usage). We don't leave lights on in rooms that we aren't using and I'm always mindful about using the least amount of light (from electric lights) when I'm in a room....like I don't use my 4 bulb bar in the bathroom if I can see what I need with a small lamp....
I'm just curious about whether you have any mood lighting that you use. I sometimes feel a bit guilty over the use of mine but honestly they can't be using much energy b/c they have 10 watt bulbs in them..... . Anyone else?

I have those candle lights in all of my windows that I turn on at night.
Other than that no lights on unless needed

I like to turn on dim lamps in our bedroom when it starts to get dark. Our house is small & I can see the "mood light" from the hall. It's so romantic.
I feel guilty, too. I used to do this every day, but now only once or twice a week.
Also, I like the night-light in the bathroom for the same reason....I don't want to turn on the big light.
In the kitchen, my DH leaves the light on over the sink.....same deal, he thinks it's pretty. I wake in the night often, so when I get up at 2 or so, I just turn it off.

Roosters get me in the mood but alas I haven't one.

Only mood lighting we have here is dimmer switches and candles.~*Darlene*~

I have a strand of mini white lights (like Christmas lights) in my sewing room, bathroom and livingroom for mood lighting. I don't turn them on all the time but I do put them on when we have company. It's really nice subtle light for not much energy use. I also use candles, but one of my cats has been known to be dangerous with candles unless I am right in the room while it's lit.

I leave lamps on after dark in the rooms we use the most, kitchen, living rm, office, and master bedroom. I also have a small night light in the bathroom that comes on automatically after dark. I just don't like having dark rooms in my house. On the other hand, the ONLY time I use overhead lights (we have ceiling fan lights in every room) is when I am cleaning. I hate the glare of them in the evening, for some reason to me it's unsettling. I do need to get some lower wattage bulbs for my lamps, I think most of them have 60 and thats really more than I need.
