The rats are at it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can not believe how blatant these electric companies can be!!!! There was a headline in our local paper that stated that CPL is going to go to the state commissioner's office to request permission to raise all of their customer's rates by................$40.76 A HOUSEHOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am with another company that is slightly cheaper, but we are still paying over 13 cents a kilowatt..........if CPL gets their way, the other companies will follow............................we'll have to do without electric altogether if this comes to pass.............they stated the reason for the increase....gas prices.........I am sooo irritated that they would even think of gouging their customers like this(insert random bad names for the rats that want this).

rats are at it again
What really bugs me is that when we first moved here 7 yrs ago, the highest we paid was 8.3 cents a kilowatt...during the summer, then it went down to about 6.4.......we have made our house more energy efficient...blew insulation in the attic, installed an attic fan, added more gable vents, replaced the ac/furnace...and have regiously watched our consumption...even to the point where we set the ac at 87 during this monstrous heat....then deregulation set in for the state of texas & everybody was so excited b/c it was suppose to mean more competition would equal lower rates...........instead....every electric provider has increased their prices..repeatedly...some increased 2-3 times during one year....it seems to me that even though there are more providers to choose from, they are still the same....I believe that texans have jumped from the frying pan into the fire with this great idea...and now those rats(electric companies) are running full throttle with the cheese....it's high time for a better mouse trap!
