    Default oil tank size

    Hello.

    Our oil tank size is 275 gallons. Is that a "normal size" our living space is 1600 sq feet. lHow many gallons of oil do you or the adverage family go through?

    Yep, considered normal size (so dh say's). That's what we have too.

    We have that size too and on an average winter use about 450 gallons of oil. We have a 550 SQ Ft, VERY leaky apartment. We put plastic on the windows and I am making insulated curtains this year. Also when the heat is on it's usually set for 60 when we aren't home and at night when sleeping and 62 when we are home.
