Instand Storm Windows
Instant Storm Windows!
My husband went to Home Depot and had clear Plexiglass custom
cut (free of charge) to the exact dimensions of the insets on
our window frames. Simply tape them inside with clear two-
inch packaging tape. The taping seals out all drafts.
Taping allows for easy removal in the spring. Once removed,
the Plexiglass sheets can be labeled to identify which window
the Plexiglass fits for next winter's use. They can be used
over and over again. Storage is easy and takes little or no
room. We plan to store them lying down, flat, so they don't
bend or crack. This small investment will go a long way in
I read this somewhere else and posted it as is thinking that it will help someone.

What a bright Idea. I have always hated the way the plastic looks on my windows.

Great idea! I have new windows here, but in the last place we lived in we used to put plastic up. This sounds not only more pleasing to the eye but cheaper in the long run.

Thanks! I have one window that slides from side to side and it leaks lots of cold air in the winter.

That is a great idea. We have storm windows but an elderly neighbor doesn't and her windows leak cold air. I bought caulk to caulk them tomorrow and will get some plexiglas for them when I get paid this month.
