    Default Shutting heater off

Was wondering if anyone who has husbands or if you know yourself if when I leave the house if I could turn the furnace off by shutting it off with the fuse box. I bought a programable thermostat and my oldest daughter learned how to work it. This girl will be the death of me. It's a nice night tonight and she had the heat up to 70. This girl will be the death of me yet. She quite school so lord only knows what she has it on while I am gone. That's another subject in itself. I would only turn off the furnace while I was gone. I am so frustrated with this girl I could scream. Just want to know if it will cause any harm to the furnace if I turn it off just while I am at work. I would be gone from the house about nine hours. Thank you all very much!

Well ladies I found out, after reading the directions, duh!, that my programable thermostat has a lockout on it. Praise the lord! I know that I did put this in the frugal forum thread also, but I was desperate for an answer. Like everybody else on the forum my bill are going up and I am doing everything to keep the bills down and it can get frustating when my daughter won't work with the rest of the family to help keep the bills down. Sorry about this.

I was going to suggest a lock, Rebecca, but I was thinking of a little box around the thermostat. Glad you got it figured out satisfactorily!
